Widely regarded as the most Industry relevant syllabus available, the Ballet Conservatoire Syllabus is structured on the Russian Vaganova method.

More serious dancers wishing to extend their classical ballet technique to more advanced and pre-professional content are supported to study this elite syllabus at Toowoomba Ballet College.

The college will launch in 2025 will offer Elite Training, Vaganova Examinations and Vocational Education up to Diploma in Dance (Elite Performance) in partnership with Empowerdance.

The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet training and assessment program emphasises correct placement, dynamics and performing quality which are all qualities inherent in the Vaganova method.  The program aims to develop in the student a professional attitude which will assist them in the pursuit of a career either as a professional dancer or dance teacher.

"Most professional ballet companies give classes in the Russian style because of its acknowledged strength and performing quality, it is therefore more logical to teach students this method from the early stages right through their training years." - Christine Walsh AM
